Esport Workshop Details

Designed for students in grades 5th - 12th, our program offers comprehensive training, from mastering the foundational skills necessary to excel in any video game competitively to unlocking the secrets of successful streaming.

  • Compete in Tournament Competitions
The workshop will cover competitive gaming strategies including how to management stress and optimize gaming performance. Have hands-on experience with professional streaming broadcast equipment production and learn what it takes to become a gaming commentator. Then workshop attendees will participate in a game tournament applying their new found knowledge.
For students in grades 5th to 12th.

Protégé Esports is a new course and league centered around fair game play and learning outcomes that include team building, game strategy, gaming culture, and online broadcasting. In our new course, students will learn about esports through the lens of the player, a producer, a team, and an industry. Combining creative prowess with technical expertise, the Esports class and league will prepare you to launch your career in this booming industry.

Protege Esports Tournament - Super Smash Bros single elimination!

Hosted by Grand Rapids Christian High School this Thursday, May 18th at 4:00 pm with planned run to 6:00 pm. Open to all High School students for drop-in play with current valid High School ID badge. Prizes for 1st and 2nd place. Event is open and free for public to watch and support players competing.

Education Courses

Esports for Schools

New course centered around fair game play, learning outcomes, online broadcasting 'streaming' technologies, team building, and event management. The eSports program and league will equip Schools with the tools and systems needed to launch their own eSports team.

The class will cover social and culture concerns of eSports along with hands-on production, content creation, streaming, and user interface design. The student will build skills in starting to produce and distribute content, set up and host streamed esports events, develop programmable screen overlays and user interfaces. The course will be a combination of in class lecture (online and/or in person) and lab using studio tools. In addition, the student will be a member of our esport team that will compete in tournaments.
Recommended for High School Students. Nintendo Switch is the platform of tournament choice, however, other platforms including Windows PC can be used to play if compatible with game being played. Exclusive games to Nintendo like SmashBros and Mario Kart can not be played on a Nintendo Switch.
